I prepared samples and weighed them out. I dissolved those samples using a variety of acids, particularly, Nitric and Hydrochloric Acids. I used Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy to analyze the samples for their mineral content.I conducted safety inspections and discussed safety at the plant at monthly safety meetings. I represented about a dozens employees in the Wet Lab Department as member of the Joint Health and Safety Committee.Stocked supplies of acids and disposed of chemical wastes.

Used measuring instruments designed in-house, to determine whether linear accelerators used in the medical therapy department of the hospital met with government specifications. Consulted with engineers to explain and describe the problems that arose and to develop plans to take corrective action.

I came up with a mathematical technique for determining information in the vertical dimension using geometry and trigonometry of two x-ray images of the same region in the body taken 21cm apart. I created and applied routines in MATLAB to help me to arrive at my description. I then created C functions to implement my formulae onto actual stereotaxic x-ray imaging equipment. I then wrote a report and made an oral presentation of my findings to a panel of professors and students.

Conducted MRI studies of cardiac imaging. I created a PVA tube which simulated the elasticity of human arteries. I pumped water through the tube to simulate blood flowing through an artery. I made measurements of area by counting pixels contained within the image, related to pressure. I created C functions to increase signal-to-noise ratio in the images.

Deployed dropsondes from cargo aircraft provided by US Navy. Troubleshooted problems, monitored incoming telemetry. Designed and created MATLAB routines to perform calculations of dew level and moisture content at air-sea interface from measurements of temperature, pressure and specific gravity. I designed and created MATLAB routines to make visualizations of the data by contourplots.
