I currently work within the Bristol area as the Membership Adviser with the FSB which is the largest not for profit business support organisation in the UK. I have been the adviser for the Wiltshire area over the past 3 years where I have met many varied and in some cases, suprising businesses in that area. I built up a lot of contacts in Wiltshire and hope to do the same in Bristol. I really enjoy meeting and assisting SME business owners and talking to them about the benefits of being a member of the FSB. Any small to medium size business should be members without a doubt, and that is not aimed at sales talk, it is a fact. The FSB are an excellent organisation, and I would stress to any small business to look strongly at the assistance and advice that we offer for example: 24/7 legal advice line and legal hubTax investigation and Employment protectionFunding platformBusiness bankingLobbying government at all levels on the issues that matter to your businessIf you would like to meet up to learn more, please message me on Linkedin or call/ email me at [email protected] or 07774 225678

Renewable solar energy was still in its infancy in many respects, again this appealed, although very much a market that I knew nothing about when I started, but could bore you quite easily with my knowledge now! When I started, the returns for the consumer were so good and made so much sense that it was more difficult not to sell the product. As the tariff payments dropped to pennies, the financial logic also dropped away which made selling harder, but Project Solar are nothing if not adaptable, and more energy saving products came online which held sales up.I really enjoyed working within this industry, meeting some great people (customers and fellow employees) along the way.

Having been self employed for many years within the fashion industry, working with Sanderson appealed to me, and I have to say that I really enjoyed the experience and introduction to business to consumer/business.Sanderson are a very professional business, everything was done in a very correct manner, training was second to none, which I found appealing. More importantly, the returns were very good if you did well, which I am pleased to say I did!

The business was formed in 1979 with my brother, and stocked with the use of our Barclays credit cards, and some very nice suppliers. Seemed a good idea at the time! Hudson+Hudson men's and womenswear became established very quickly from its Cardiff base and stores in Covent Garden, Bath and Bristol followed very quickly. We were always aware of keeping one step ahead of the market, the stores were designed with an eclectic feel, with the use of raw materials, and videos were used for the music, I think we did this before MTV hit the airwaves. All common now.Although in its infancy, which seems crazy today, I set up a website for the business in 1994. Not a great one admittedly then, but one that developed into an impressive website.
