The Hiser Group, a consultancy specialising in user interface design, services many large corporate and government organisations that understand the critical business imperative of providing an optimal user experience for their products and services.For the last two years, I was the General Manager for both the Melbourne and Sydney offices. My challenge was to foster a culture of collaboration, consistency and success. This busy role enabled me to hone my people management skills. As General Manager of Hiser I had responsibility for:Defining and implementing company strategy and direction, including processes and toolsManaging four direct reports in Melbourne and Sydney and indirectly managing a team of fourteen staffStakeholder management with the parent companyBusiness development, proposal writing and client negotiation Account, project, and staff management Mentoring staff on user-centred design projectsThe financial performance of the organisationAchievements:Achieving a profit result in my first year of being General Manager following a loss in the year priorAchieving profit results each for each year of my stewardship with this year on track to do the sameSetting a strategy to move the business into a new direction and being successful in applying that strategyExtending a 3 month project into a 12 month contract and successfully negotiating that contract for another 2 year extension.Managing a number of high profile strategic projects for clients with excellent outcomes for the client

I started as the Finance Manager at The Hiser Group and shortly thereafter the business was restructured and I took over the General Manager – Victoria role.
