My tasks in this role included:• Detailed analysis of a wide range of businesses that suffered damage caused by the Christchurch earthquakes. • Reviewing claims for financial loss, historical financial data, and calculating costs savings and increases caused by working during the disruptions. • Conducting interviews with business owners to help determine a basis for payment along with completion of trend analysis on trading figures to calculate expected annual turnover. • Detailed financial discussions with Chartered Accountants, valuers, insurers and lawyers including the negotiation of settlements.• Preparation and submission of detailed technical reports to insurers outlining the logic and calculations used within the recommendations.
