    I just terminated my association with Tate Publishing, a Subsidy so-called Christian publisher. I discovered such publishers are usually just a group of unscrupulous writer's (sharks) who have gotten together to feed on the new unsuspecting writer's eager to be in print, they are parasites that give the whole publishing industry a bad name. I also think it is better to Self-publish your own work and sell it from the trunk of your car then to buy into the Subsidy Publishing tank of frenzied sharks who only care about themselves. Please Google and investigate all such companies before you hand over your hard earned dollars. I tried it several times before moving toward starting my own little publishing company. We writer's now have the technology and capabilities to be in charge of our own destiny. To keep from becoming a starving writer, which is my first passion, I buy and sell old houses here in South West Florida for fun and profit. It has become a very successful principle I adhere to, stay under 75K, pay cash, buy cheap and sell high. And of course, if you are retired and as handy with tools as I am, you'll quickly build a very nice retirement cushion to write about. GEB.

    They speak of the California Big trees as the Heartwoods of America. It was there I began creating for myself a brand new life. Much to my amazement, while studying Chemical Dependency Counseling, I made the President’s Honor Roll, the National Dean’s List, the Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society and I graduated with highest honors in May of 1997. Today I hold a State Certificate of Achievement in Chemical Dependency Family Counseling, and I now have 28 years experience as a public speaker on recovery. Truly, there in Northern California’s Big Trees, I became a brand new Heartwood Creation.

    After graduating I never went back to bookbinding and I have been writing books ever since... It used to be, Writer’s, write. Agent’s got their work in front of the Chief Editor to edit the work. Then the Publisher, published the work. Distributor’s, then distributed the work to Bookseller’s and they sold it to the masses. Every-body made money, because it was a symbiosis relationship and they all knew their part. However, the Writer and his creativity alone, has always been the fountain-head of this entire industry, and now the very blood that pulses through his or her body of work, is now at risk on the very bottom of the food-chain. -What happened?- First, Publisher’s got greedy, and began to downsize, so they laid off their editorial staff, and agents no longer had a foot in the door, so to speak. The internet came into being, and these groups of unemployed agent’s and editor’s began forming “Self-publishing companies” most of which were scams, without accreditation, and as this computer generated ball got rolling, the variation of scams on the internet are to numerous to write about, but today my books are now being illegally obtained by others and sold on E-bay and Amazon without my permission. They are crooks. The big publisher still exist, but only look at the money (Status) numbers or where you stand in the public eye. if you are a prominent Celebrity, Politician or a fluke like Joe the Plumber, your book will be published with some success, the rest are blowing smoke. So what can you contribute to this network for the wannabe writer - eager to be in print?
