Striped Bass Fisheries Investigations, Texas Instruments Incorporated Trailered and operated various water craft and vehicles engaged in haul seine and gill netting for adult and juvenile Striped Bass as part of a study to determine if Striped Bass return to their natal rivers to spawn and to aid in estimating the proportions of Chesapeake and Hudson stocks in the Atlantic Coastal Fishery. Worked with various commercial fisherman, assisting in the operation of Draggers, Ocean Haul Seiners, Trap Haulers, Dories and Gill Netters. Collected fish for study in areas closed to the commercial fishery using haul seins and gill nets.

Crew Chief, Hudson River Fisheries Investigations

On nearly a daily basis, operated various craft from 16 foot Boston Whalers to 46 foot Novi Eastern Rigged Draggers from Troy Dam (Albany) to the George Washington Bridge. Engaged in Gill netting, Drift Gill Netting, Trap fishing and trawling as part of a study of the fisheries populations of the Hudson River to determine the impact of water used for power plant cooling.

As a side job to my duties at Texas Instruments, I ran gill nets in the spring of each year in the Peekskill Bay region of the Hudson River in order to provide live male and female striped bass for hatchery studies. Note that all the fish I provided were released live after removal of sperm/eggs.
