Jul 2022 - Present
I have been building my way up to DPA over the years first grounding myself in Yacht and Crew Compliance, then becoming Client Manager to expand my knowledge in other areas (Prospecting, Technical, Charter, Sales, Accounts, etc.), and most recently via Lead Yacht Operations USA which looked more at professional development internally for the compliance team. Compliance is my life, my passion, and I am determined to continue helping seafarers stay safe, encourage vessel innovations, and protecting the marine environment. -
Nov 2019 - Mar 2022
As Client Manager, I am responsible for managing the relationship between the Company and the Client as well as ensuring that the contractual deliverables in our yacht management are met to the highest standard for the Client's vessel. My role involves coordinating yacht management service deliverables for a portfolio of yachts, managing key relationships (Clients, Captains, Crew etc.), identifying commercial opportunities, and managing the complete on-boarding and off-boarding processes. With my background in both yacht and crew compliance, I am able to better assist and problem solve with the team and therefore ensure the services provided are accurate and efficient.

Yacht and Crew Compliance
-
Jul 2018 - Nov 2019
Within this role, I was not only responsible for the Yacht Operations role, but also for payroll, calculating leave balances, drafting contracts and termination letters, monitoring Hours of Rest records, and reviewing vessel profiles for missing or expired crew certification. This role really helped improve my auditing tool box as it helped me see the full picture of the necessary compliance required for voluntary and/or commercial yachts.

Yacht Operations
-
Oct 2017 - Nov 2019
I am responsible for ensuring that our fleet are always properly certified to fulfil their yachting experience. This is done via yacht certification, compliance with the ISM and ISPS Codes, yacht documentation in terms of creating various safety and environmental manuals (SOPEP, SEEMP, Crew Training, etc), and via internal audits during the yacht visits. I work closely with various teams in Yacht Management including Yacht Managers, Crew Services, Technical & Refit Management, Compliance and the Charter department. Externally, I work with the Crew, Clients, Flag, Class, Insurance Brokers and Underwriters among others to fulfil the client's needs and ensure safety and environmental protection in yachting.

As an employee of the RNLI, I was a Face2Face Fundraiser. Our team raised roughly 380,000 GBP which will help ensure that this well-known charity can continue to save lives and halve the amount lost at sea by 2024. Skills that I developed this summer included fundraising, adaptability, self management, closing ability and pragmatism. It was an incredible experience in which I will carry with me for life.

While in the daytime I worked at Irwin and then later on Hess Law Firm, at night I worked at Blue Martini about 3 to 4 times a week. I have always enjoyed working in the service industry. You meet many people, utilize problem solving if a complaint arises, become a strong communicator, build on teamwork and get to enjoy the music while you are at it. I used the money I earned here to save up for my expenses in graduate school. I was able to save enough to pay for my plane ticket, roughly 8 months rent, plus food and miscellaneous expenses.

Stewardess/Deckhand
-
Oct 2011 - Dec 2015
I began working on yachts in October 2011 with the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show. After I graduated with my Associate's degree in college, I worked permanently on a luxury vessel that was roughly 46 meters. My duties included maintaining the interior, helping at times with the exterior, cleaning, serving, bartending, complying with seaworthiness while underway, keeping watch whether at sea or at port and working as a team with the rest of the crew in our daily tasks and while guests were on board. After I went to the University of Miami, I worked as a seasonal or daywork job in my spare time. In these breaks, I would work on vessels ranging up to 65 meters assisting with charters and/or deliveries. This experience on board and out at sea brought a new excitement for life, traveling as well as self management, team work, independence, practice of silver service, and the utmost importance of safety on board.
