Studied the occurrence of multiple Hopf bifurcations inside a singular 2D lid driven cavity (LDC) with Reynolds number as the bifurcation parameter using Direct Numerical Simulation (DNS) of the governing Navier-Stokes Equations in stream-function vorticity formulation. The influence due to the choice of numerical schemes, grid resolution and discretized time step on the presence of Hopf bifurcations was also studied in greater depth. Thereafter reduced order modeling of the DNS data was performed using Proper Orthogonal Decomposition (POD) to extract the dominant basis functions (spatial modes) for the entire set of simulated results.

I worked on algorithm development for computing equilibrium chemical composition of air for temperatures 200-9000 K. I developed the code in C++ and assisted in integrating this sub-routine into a complete CFD solver for 2D hypersonic, inviscid flows.
