I retired from the US Navy on November 1, 2021. My Navy career spanned 36 total years with 21 years as a critical care/trauma nurse, enroute care nurse, and professional nurse. My combat deployments included; Iraq in 2003 for the invasion and again in 2009 to Ramadi, Iraq with 2nd Med Battalion Bravo Surgical Company Shock Trauma Platoon. My last combat deployment was to Kandahar, Afghanistan in 2018 as the Director of Nursing Services for the NATO Role 3 Multinational Medical Unit. Throughout my Navy career, I provided leadership, mentorship, and sought out increasing responsibilities. I look back fondly on my career as I am enjoying my next life outside of the Navy with Walt Disney World Health Services and Disney Cruise Line.
