    I was promoted to continue efforts and contributions on projects for one of the company’s primary clients, primarily working on product features.I respond to incidents (on call every 3 weeks), triaging issues and creating tickets for or personally fixing bugs.I interact with stakeholders, including DRIs and design team members, to provide an engineering perspective on feature ideas and project briefs. Among my achievements: ❖ Converted B2B invoicing from a manual to an automated process, removing a previously tedious and error-prone aspect of team members’ jobs as well as improving tracking of customers in arrears. Integrated Stripe invoices as a payment method in Solidus to generate invoices automatically. ❖ Reduced workload significantly on customer service requests by implementing a detection system that monitors delayed packages of perishables (shipped w/ dry ice), rerouting shipments in transit for more than 3 days and sending replacement shipments. ❖ Contributed to the integration of Sanity CMS and dynamic pages as part of a team effort. Decreased the amount of time the development team needed to spend on creating landing pages for the marketing team (or make website copy changes); efforts received highly positive responses company-wide.

    I was promoted from intern to work with a specific client, as well as contribute to additional initiatives (referral abuse detection algorithm, payment-to-setup-intent transition). Past successes: ❖ Contributed to a significant increase in gift purchases on a project to overhaul customer gifting (widely requested feature from customers) on the client website. Completed project under extremely tight 1-month deadline. → Worked with another developer and collaborated with business stakeholders as well as the design team on project specifics, including the development of an overhauled gift purchasing and redemption flow (Nebulab subsequently wrote a case study featuring the gift flow). → Enabled both the client and Nebulab to increase their revenues based on the gift flow. ❖ Introduced referral abuse detection. Implemented a detection algorithm in the company’s Referral program that matched normalized shipping addresses and email addresses.

    I was brought on board to collaborate with team members on the following: working on tickets in the sprint; participating in all Scrum ceremonies (e.g., standup, sprint planning, retrospective); and completing small features as well as bug fixes. I maintained test suite using RSpec, VCR, Capybara, and Datadog synthetic tests. I developed within a Rails application using the Solidus e-commerce framework, Postgres, Sidekiq, ViewComponent, Storybook, and Hotwire. Notably, I:❖Rebuilt the payment selector component still in use today; updated component to show 3 credit cards by default and Show More/Less & Add New Card button vs. previous list of CCs as radio buttons.

    I worked alongside a Database Engineer to create and maintain database scripts, as well as writing unit tests. I created and changed MySQL schemas for new data models, and developed and maintained database to prune and offload scripts using MySQL on AWS RDS. My accomplishments include: ❖ Created a Python script to automate transfer of old database records to AWS Glacier and the deletion of the data post-transfer. ❖ Introduced and implemented TDD and OO principles on database scripts using Python (delivered a presentation at the end of the internship to discuss efforts in this area). Received multiple compliments and requests to view the rest of the database scripts. ❖ Wrote unit tests for the script, influencing other engineers to begin adding unit tests.

    I assisted developers in developing the company’s next-generation web application and moving Kollective’s legacy web application to React as part of the Web Development team. I am proud to have: ❖ Contributed to the transition of legacy Vue application to React/Redux. ❖ Built real-time bandwidth/peer-to-peer monitoring using React and React-vis to graph peer-to-peer bandwidth usage. Migrated graphs from SVGs, resulting in a vastly improved user interface.
