Human Resources Intern
-
May 2009 - Present
I am working with the Human Resources department of the YMCA of San Francisco Association office in conjunction with pursuing my Master of Science in Human Resource Management. I am studying how to optimize the presence of the Human Resources function within organizations, how to identify the key drivers of success that HR contributes to an organization, and how to create metrics for those deliverables so that the HR scorecard is a compelling one. At the YMCA of San Francisco, I have also studied the organization's benefits and recruiting and selection processes, and created papers and presentations for my Master's degree based on my research. I am managing projects for the VP of HR, including creating a new exit interview survey based on best practices for collecting meaningful data; performing legal research in order to update the employee handbook, as well as conducting research for employee issues and EEOC claims. My goal is to obtain a position at a non-profit organization, where I can utilize my talents, experience and education to better the world around us.
