Design and development of laser, optical and photonic systems with particular emphasis on leading a new project on developing fibre amplifiers, fibre lasers, high-precision wavemeters and high brightness semiconductor laser diodes.1) Development of high brightness laser diodes using comprehensive knowledge of nanofabrication technology, understanding of semiconductor device design principles and semiconductor material properties2) Development of fiber lasers and amplifiers using knowledge of optical and laser physics theory and practice, including Gaussian beams, optical cavities, optical active and passive fibres (Er, Yb, Tm), non-linear optics, optical interference effects and other fundamental physics underpinning MOGLabs existing and future products3) Development of high precision Fizeau wavemeters4) Design of high precision mechanical components for lasers such as flexure mounts, cylindrical telescopes, piezo actuators and fibre couplers5) Design of electronics circuits and PCBs for laser control systems: high precision ADC/DAC, microcontrollers, constant current sources, switch mode power supplies, Ethernet, USB6) Assemble, test, and develop prototypes of new optical, electronic and photonic products7) Firmware (STM32) and software (Python) development8) Lead R&D projects from concept through to production (full stack product designer)9) Supervise and mentor staff10) Liaise with MOGLabs staff and external contractors including ANFF staff, industrial design, prototype manufacture, and production manufacture

The interlock was successfully installed on the magnetic kicker system at the European XFEL. I designed multiple components of particle accelerators such as high-voltage power supply, remote control and measurement modules.
