      Evelyn is an award-winning fine art quilt designer. She won "Best Use if Embellishment" at Glendale Quilt Show 2000 for her 2-panel quilt "Paradise of Birds Diptych: Cranes and Bamboo". Each panel features a batik panel from Bali thatbus outline quilted with invisible thread for a 3-dimensional look. Hand-sewn Swarovski crystals in sterling silver make the birds eyes shine. Hand-sewn clusters of white irridescent beads make the flowers on the tree branches pop. Multiple red floral fabric strips frame the batik panel and enhance the rainbow batik borders that are pieced from 70 different batik fabrics. The red floral fabric used for the back, borders, and binding is enhanced withb gold metallic flowers.
