    During my role as an Executive Producer I oversaw the work of the producer on behalf of the company, the financiers as well as our distributors. I also ensured the programmes were completed on time, within budget, and to agreed artistic and technical standards. I also assumed the role of a producer who raised a significant proportion of finance, seeking funding or who also secured the underlying rights to the project. In major productions,played a crucial financial or creative role in ensuring that the project goes into production. I was also for ensuring that we met our language levels across the broad range of language requirements under our statutory obligations of Māori Television Service Act.

    Responsible for managing all content produced internally, budgets, personnel and internal resources.Producing over 1000 hours of Māori language, fluent, receptive and second language programmes on a total of 12 Million annual budget. This role had key strategic delegated authority to ensure we achieved our statutory objectives, language hours, number of programmes against our annual budget. I was also responsible for securing key relationships and engagement with other key institutions of repositories including Te Papa, NZ Film Archives, Auckland War Memorial Museum, RNZ Sound Archives, TVNZ, TWOA, TWOR to develop new and innovative content.

    Responsible for Programming Content for Māori Television and Te Reo Channel. In charge of in-house production resource, budget and personnel. This role included key strategic delegated authority to create change and effect key strategic direction. I was also responsible for ensuring the second of Māori Televisions officials Channels, Te Reo was launched successfully. Including taking sole responsibility for scheduling, crewing and budgeting appropriate programmes and content for the initial 12 months of its broadcast. I was instrumental for establishing our Māori Television language and tikanga Strategy for onscreen content including language plans used for production companies which has now been adopted by our key funder TMP who monitors our language quality and quantity deliverables.

    Responsible for commissioning Māori Televisions external content and programmes with a total of contestable funds of $20 million to produce a total of 1300 hours of programming across Fluent, Second Language and receptive language level programmes. I engaged with funders including TMP, NZOA, TPK, Te Taura Whiri, key language stakeholders, industry suppliers as well as our communities, iwi, hapū and whānau to ensure we met our statutory obligations under the Māori Television Service Act 2003.
