    I influenced people by providing purpose, direction, and motivation to accomplish department tasks and improved the organization. I mentored six indirect leaders in different departments. I demonstrated flexibility in working night shifts and day shifts based on the needs of the company's focus. I was open-minded to being taught and put into use production apps, terminology, processes and procedures that were either new to me or that I had not used in years. Care and communication to the employee was foremost in keeping their minds on their tasks and not on issues. I was their HR and safety resource in either shift and ensured their all their needs were satisfied. I was effective in coaching employees in English and Spanish so no employee went without being informed. Continued to translate documents for the Safety, Quality and HR departments.

    I assist with planning, establishing, implementing, and maintaining a variety of occupational health, safety, environmental programs to assure the highest possible degree of safety for employees. I help assure that Texas Hydraulics complies with applicable federal and state health, safety and environmental laws, regulations, and standards. Implemented a incentive program that recognizes departments quarterly for achieving zero recordable injuries. This has brought esprit de corps to the department and a challenge to the department leadership to strengthen their safety programs through continual improvement.Developed and implemented a New Hire Safety Training Program for new hire and rehire employees, regular and temporary. For the first four months they meet once a week and are given classroom instruction on safety topics and are tested on it with a standard of at least a 70% pass rate. In English as well as Spanish. The result in 2012 was a significant decrease in all new hire injuries (from day 1 to 12 months of employement)Changed company safety training meetings from speaking to the company as a whole to department specific safety meetings where the topics and concerns of that department are discussed, reenforced, and trained. The result has been better understanding of what is being put out and how it applies to them without mixing in other information that doesn't apply to them.Developed and implemented an effective department safety compliance audit that is performed weekly. The checks come from results from prior audits from outside agencies. The results have brought the department leadership, maintenance department, the the safety office closer in resolving deficiencies found.The Safety programs that were implemented were instrumental in the company being recognized by the Texas Department of Insurance and awarded the Lone Star Safety Award.
