PreppComm is a startup that designs and manufactures small computerized Morse Code transceivers and emergency GO Bags for the prepper and amateur radio market. The products were developed over a period of 3 years. The transceiver allows an operator with at minimum a Technician Class license to operate Morse Code via text input and output (no code knowledge required). The GO Bag is a complete radio station in a bag, about 8 pounds, ready to go, and EMP safe.

My move to Sandpoint, Idaho enabled me to develop EMP-resistant backup power systems, as well as other preparations to survive exteneded power grid failures. Part of that included looking at options for long-term food storage. I have developed a Preparedness Presentation that contains a lot of information I have learned over the past months. You can download it here: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/8508528/EmergencyPreparedness-latest.pdf Please give me feedback and suggestions! And yes, I know there are a few typos...As a nature photographer, I have recently published a photo book of the last 10 years (2005-2014). It is available by request in hardbound, but a PDF version is available (link below). Note that the two-page panorama in the book was converted to a single page by the PDF program, so you will only see the center of the image of Steelhead Lake in the Sierra Nevada Mountains near Yosemite National Park.https://www.dropbox.com/s/ebpx3j2ldfzq303/TenYears.pdf?dl=0Other than my photography and my Ham Radio hobby, I am available for contracts that are related to my knowledge and experience.

One of the most powerful and life-changing experiences in my life was the Klemmer and Associates leadership training seminars. I went back to the Personal Mastry and Advanced Leadership seminars as a staff member, and was rewarded with lots of hard work but an even more powerful experience. I highly recommend this series - it dramatically changed my life, my wife's life, and enabled me to move forward in ways I would never have been able prior to that training.

Led the development of a digital camera operating system and hardware reference design, including the development of multiple chips. Worked with Motorola to create a microprocessor with functions to support a digital camera with a graphical user interface, designed to run applications and scripts written by developers, Shipped cameras from Kodak, Minolta, H/P and others using this technology. Filed many digital camera patents, and led internal corporate invention discovery process. My full-time work ended in 2001, but I continue to work part time for FlashPoint as an intellectual property adviser, assisting in the prosecution at the ITC of the approximately 75 of my patents assigned to them.

As an early Apple // owner, my dream was to work at Apple. I got my dream fulfilled in September 1987, and worked for Apple for 9 years, creating many technologies and filing many patents. I was at the forefront of instituting a patent-focused environment at Apple: when I arrived, the company was not focused on patenting its inventions. I developed a risc-based architecture for a multimedia computer, and shipped the DSP component as part of the A/V Macs - a DSP co-processor and operating system that complemented the Macintosh system, and performed high-speed modem functions, audio processing, graphics processing, and other signal-processing intensive tasks. I developed one of the first GUI-based mobile platforms to support software application development of apps to run on digital camera mobile devices, and led the development of the graphical user interface, as well as the system hardware architecture and operating system architecture. Due to financial difficulties at Apple, our group was spun out as a new silicon valley startup in 1996, called FlashPoint. I was the first technologist to successfully develop technology within the Advanced Technology Group at Apple and transfer it into shipped product.

I developed the hardware and software for over 55 products, including single-chip microprocessors and multi-processing systems utilizing up to 13 separate microprocessors at the same time for controlling banks of projectors, lighting, and other multi-media devices used in large-scale presentations at World's Fairs and conventions. I created control systems that were capable of interactive operation and sensing of projector systems that was considered impossible by the manufacture of the projector systems. I was the architect and user interface designer for the first multi-tasking operating system for controlling large multi-media systems that ran on an Apple // that was not matched by our competitors for over 6 years. I developed branching presentations with audience participation via voting boxes at each seat. I developed a police training simulator, including gunshot detector and heart rate monitoring to convert the branching multi-media presentation system into a powerful police training system that automatically critiqued the reactions of the officers being trained, including auto-shutdown when the emotional state became dangerous to the officer. The system would identify frame-by-frame exactly when the office fired a shot, and would report if the shot was correct or illegal or dangerous to bystanders based on the placement of actors at the exact frame the shot was fired.
