As a seasoned instructional designer, I deliver results by building performance-based learning experiences for a wide range of business units, using a wide range of technology solutions. I work closely with business partners to capture essential information, which I craft into meaningful learning opportunities. In addition to managing all aspects of learning projects, I coach other IDs, encourage self-development, and raise our group's collective capabilities. I also host monthly ID Guild meetings to promote continuous learning and professional development opportunities.

Working for VCC was my first experience with a construction company. Knowing absolutely nothing about the construction industry did not deter or impede my ability to excel in this position and deliver quality products to serve the needs of the company. My primary duties involved designing, developing, and managing all systems training content. - I created VCC's first role-based curriculum for superintendents. Subject areas included training field data entry and reporting, risk management, expense management, and communications, among others. I also developed a training plan for new hires that balanced compliance-related training requirements with systems training to maximize student engagement and information retention.- I researched, designed, and implemented VCC's first cellphone-based micro-learning program to inform and assess field employee safety-related knowledge.- I also evaluated, designed, and deployed the organization's first leadership competency program. Modules in the program provided an initial overview of a specific leadership competency then provided a self-assessment, allowing the student to select training resources based upon the results.

My rewarding experience at Goodwill initially involved researching, designing, developing, implementing, and managing all training-related content for an agency of 700+ employees. My first task was to convert existing new-hire presentations to an online format. - I introduced new design methodologies to better utilize the preexisting content delivery environment by incorporating interactivity, audio, video, and assessment mechanisms.- I increased efficiency by designing online courses to maintain CARF compliance certification.- I designed and developed a comprehensive safety-training series for all personnel.- I continued working for Goodwill Industries of Arkansas as a freelance contractor to enable greater flexibility and lower the organization's development costs.

My initiative reduced project costs by $600,000 in the first departmental implementation. - Organizational Capability employed a staff of over 30 learning consultants. I mentored junior consultants in the art of performance consulting/training and introduced new types of education technology to the consulting team. I also mentored senior consultants in CPLP AOEs.- I conceptualized and built corporate guidelines for task-based procedure documentation, PSS change management procedures, and managed numerous project teams to analyze, document, and improve business unit procedures.
