For my six month work placement with the Bcomm degree, I operated as a sales coordinator on the reactive side of business with Event Partners Ireland. My main role was to create attractive programmes for possible clients wishing to bring incentive business to Ireland. This involved me studying the client brief intently and creating an innovative proposal to wow the client and win their business. Essentially I was selling Ireland as a destination and selling EPI as a partner to the client. I acquired a number of skills and valuable experiences while undertaking this work placement- my oral and written communication, my ability to work within a team and confidence to use my own initiative when time is of the essence on-site. While being challenged continuously throughout the placement I cannot commend the company, UCC and my past colleagues enough who I consider more to be friends, for making my work experience hugely rewarding, educational and above all enjoyable.
