      Director & coordinator of a Regional Program on Human Rights and Peacebuilding of 5 million Canadian dollars covering Iraq, Lebanon, Tunisia, the West Bank and Gaza. Managed 30 projects (programatic and financial management), including coaching, monitoring and evaluation • Held assessment surveys and extensive consultations with a wide range of civil society organizations.• Contributed to developing the guiding rules and regulations of the fund. Simplified all management tools such as results based matrix, operational, monitoring and financial plans in order to make them more users friendly. The program main themes focused on enhancing democratic reform and transition (the Arab Spring), psychosocial and legal support for women and youth, peacebuilding and conflict resolution initiatives, capacity buildings, teaching Human rights through creative tools, and human rights in Palestinian camps. The program had an implementation rate 0f 96% with highly rated results in terms of quality, efficiency, and effectiveness as assessed by an external evaluator.

      Working with UNOPS as a Human Rights Portfolio Project Manager (2006-2008) and as a project Manager for the Iraqi Civil Society Forum (2004 – 2006), I managed different projects for Iraq totalling 8 million USD funded by the EC and the Iraqi Trust Fund. In addition to management, my work required partnering and coordinating closely with the different program stakeholders such as ministries, donors, UN agencies, local, Arab and international agencies. It also required reporting per results using indicators, while raising recommendations and lessons learnt used for the second phase of program planning. Monitoring project progress against workplans and budgets, and reviewing proposals were also among the main tasks handled. Projects focused on the protection of detainees, rehabilitation of torture victims, capacity building of civil society organizations in addition to CSOs grants .Projects had an Implementation rate of 93%. The visibility of these projects were high. Produced an article entitled “ Nurturing Human Rights in Iraq “ published in a booklet for UNOPS 2007 and a media Kit containing a multi media report, a booklet and a brochure about the program .This has attracted the EC as a donor to provide UNOPS with triple funding to continue the work jointly with UNDP.
