In general, my main duties as an HSSE Analyst included ensuring compliance with donor requirements (WB) national regulations and UNOPS rules as it relates to occupational health and safety, and environmental management, and to provide advice, training on measures needed to minimize hazards and environmental impacts in construction project and sites. Established a safe workplace according to legal standards and fostered a culture of attention to health, safety, social and environment management in all work sites throughout the projects’ life cycle. More specifically, I was responsible for the following substantive tasks: Provide technical advice to project developers and program managers to embed HSSE. Support the production and review HSSE plans, on a regular basis. Support project staff, contractors, consultants, implementing partners and stakeholders on various HSSE matters. Support the Projects’ teams in raising awareness on HSSE issues.Conduct risk assessment and enforce preventative measures on HSSE. Organize and conduct HSSE training for UNOPS project team, contractors, consultants, implementing partners and other stakeholders. Support the recording and investigate incidents (including near misses) to determine the cause and to propose improvements to processes in the future. Prepare reports on incidents (including near misses) and compile statistical information to present to management on HSSE matters. Ensure a safe workplace environment is maintained Ensure that all Health & Safety policies, procedures, rules and regulations are adhered to and are regularly reviewed, updated and communicated. Do HSSE inspections, audits and checks. Conduct a structured program of health & safety training Support with all aspects of relevant health, safety & welfare at work legislation and communicate relevant changes to the stakeholders. meet the requirements of external audits for ISO 14 001 and OHSAS 18 001
