    Environmental Volunteers -- The "EV" -- is a national leader in environmental work reaching more than 565,000 kids since 1972. We accomplish our award-winning programs through the power of our Volunteers of all ages who offer creative learning adventures in classrooms, local tide-pools, redwood groves, oak-woodlands. The EV operates primarily in San Mateo and Santa Clara counties surrounding our EcoCenter in the Palo Alto Baylands Preserve. We now also have Sprout Up chapters at Santa Clara University, UC Santa Barbara, UC Davis, UC Santa Cruz, Cal Poly, Columbia University /Barnard College, and New York University. We are always training more Volunteers! Join us.

    Formerly owned by the Phipps Family, La Garita Ranch was a private guest-ranch in southwest Colorado, and the site of the first conservation easement of The Nature Conservancy in Colorado. Through four high-school summers and two college summers played in the high country of Colorado while learning how to run a private nature preserve with four conservation easements, hire, train, manage, budget, and inspire a seasonal team to convey a private restaurant, horseback riding, and fly-fishing guest ranch for our guests and members.
