Project Manager -- Cincinnati Playscapes
-
Oct 2008 - Jul 2010
In 2009 the University of Cincinnati and the Cincinnati Nature Center received a generous grant to design and build two nature-based play areas to be a model for future playgrounds. Part of my work is researching 'playscapes', landscapes for play, and writing about the concept for grants and public relations. A large part of this position is project management including developing deadlines and strategies to meet them, planning events, and communicating with participants and stakeholders. Upcoming events include developing an ASLA continuing education course for landscape architects and hosting renowned playscape designers Robin Moore and Nilda Cosco from North Carolina State University to lead several community charrettes that will result in schematic designs for the Cincinnati playscapes.
