Worked as a postdoc in a multidisciplinary team to determine the structure-function relationships of regulatory RNAs and their mechanisms of action using NGS and genomics. I investigated the multipronged role played by lncRNAs in genome organization and dynamics without which the complete understanding of genome regulation of higher organism remains elusive.

I investigated the role of macromolecular crowding and their properties such as size, shape and mobility on the dynamics of DNA binding proteins to reach their target DNA site. By using large scale Langevin dynamics simulations and extensive kinetic studies, I work to elucidate the role of cellular crowding on the target search dynamics of various transcription factors and DNA Repair Proteins.Macromolecular crowding affects various biological equilibria, such as protein folding, binding of small molecules, enzymatic activity, protein-protein interactions, pathological protein aggregation and the extent of amyloid formation etc. Hence, it will be beneficial in the treatment of conditions such as Alzheimer's disease and play a major role in genome editing and designing of artificial DNA Binding Proteins.

I worked as a Junior Research Fellow on the project entitled 'A Novel Cas2 protein of CRISPR/Cas system in Leptospira interrogans displaying Dual Nuclease Activity'. Here, I worked to understand Cas2 diversity existing in the prokaryotic adaptive immune system. During this period, I worked on various molecular biology techniques such as Isolation of DNA, RNA, cloning and expression of bacterial genes.
