He has served in a variety of leadership roles on community and higher education boards such as the UW-Madison Athletics Board, Alumni Board, School of Business Advisory Board, Michigan United Negro College Fund Board,and was past Chairman of the Madison Urban League, Madison Community Foundation, and Wisconsin Board of Special Olympics. Dr. Norvell also served on the NCAA Budget and Finance Committee and the Big Ten Conference Budget Committee. He is a respected public speaker and motivational leader.
