Managed and directed multi-program sites in the Near North area and South side of Chicago, which included head start, after-school and school-based programs serving more than 1,100 families annually. Guided two Head Start sites in order to receive an “NAEYC” accreditation, a childcare award in which only 5% of childcare agencies receive nationwide.Supervisory duties included the direct supervision of a total staff consisting of 32 people including 5 managers with an operations budget of $1.5 million. Other duties included participation and recommendations for hiring all staff and program participants, staff and crew training, curriculum development, and team building. Developed files on 300 grant prospects. Solicited approximately 100 sources for $450,000 in annual support from foundations and corporations. Prepared government grants for approximately $400,000 in city and state funding.Led all areas of fund development, including capital campaigns and major gifts solicitations.Coordinated the conversion of donor and prospect database from manual to computerized system. Provided assistance to over 30 community groups during the program year through training, technical support, preparation of educational materials and youth curriculum presentations. Recruited high profile corporate volunteers for Annual Spring Gala. Increased gross revenue by 30% over previous years, with a 30% increase in attendance. Worked closely in the development of the Local Board. Conducted assessments of existing skills and affiliations to develop a more targeted recruitment approach; developing the local board of management manual.
