    Dr Burn has established a general private practice dental surgery in Broadway Nedlands in West Australia in 1978.He has gained further qualifications as a specialist Forensic Odontologist in 2007.Dr Burn is very experienced in all aspects of general practice dentistry and has his practice open Mon - Fri. Appointments are deliberately made longer so that required treatment may be carried out without the need for numerous short appointments when practical. Dr Burn prefers that treatments are performed in a relaxing stress free environment for both himself and the patient so has limited bookings to 25 hours/week. Our patients once they have received treatment are encouraged to re-attend in future so that there is a degree of continuality of service which is benifical to the patients long term dental wellbeing over the years.Dr Burn has decided to be a independent dental practitioner and not a health fund provider practitioner. The health funds with their "preferred provider scheme" gets dentists to sign contracts with them controlling their fees and influencing clinical decisions involving patient care. This to my mind influences good clinical dentistry. Although health funds reimburse my insured patients for some of their fees they reimburse patients of preferred providers at a higher level. They make the provider dentists lock in fees which they have calculated using statistics gathered over the previous 5 years they have collated from patients claims. The figures they come up with are lower by up to 20% than current fees charged. This is not the role of insurance companies!Dr Burn also is qualified as a specialist Forensic Odontologist and is called upon when needed for aspects of dentistry such as when the coronial system requires a dental experts opinion, dento- legal expert witness, court apearances , deceased person ID investigation which require dental opinions and attendance at autopsy cases to help with criminal investigationsDr Burn
