    D&R Enterprises was a retail nature store. I Co-founded and managed a brick and mortar, and an online business. I was responsible for all functions of the business from selling product, marketing, payroll, ordering product,and the management and training of all employees. Indeed, I purchased and sold over 100 tons of birdseed a year.I developed an online business, selling to customers across the U.S. I also managed the development of a comprehensive website using it to market and sell products on Google AdWords.I developed a mailing list of 1,200 customers. I wrote and distributed comprehensive monthly newsletters to these customers. The newsletters became the most effective marketing tool employed by the business.I wrote weekly articles for a local newspaper. ! also wrote the scripts for advertisements on radio and T.V.. Most of the articles involved instruction on how to identify and understand the behavior of wild birds.

    Founded in 1818, St. Louis University is a private institution that ranks in the 2014 edition of Best Colleges in National Universities. SLU accounting graduates have a long history of success on the CPA exam, earning the Missouri gold medal on several occasions and regularly placing in the top ten. In addition, SLU recently had the highest Missouri pass rate for first-time candidates with advanced degrees.While Chairman of the Department of Accounting, I was responsible for most functions of the Department, from setting teaching schedules, hiring faculty, evaluating faculty performance, etc.My advanced expertise in the area of Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS) led to my being instrumental in positioning the school's auditing class in 5th place in CPA exams within the state of Missouri.I taught Graduate and Undergraduate courses in Financial Accounting, Auditing, Management Accounting, Cost Accounting, Accounting Research Methods, and a roster of additional coursework.I successfully created and delivered several new courses including graduate MBA courses in auditing and strategic cost management (a Harvard case-based course).I developed and managed a productive accounting/auditing internship program for some 175 students over my tenure as Chairman. I recruited all of the major CPA firms, the Federal Reserve, Monsanto Co. and more to participate in the program.
