    Served in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War. I was thanked by few, mocked by hippies and envied by my fellow airmen when they found out that my communications training positioned me in Southern Italy for two years. My assignment was to simply keep the electric power flowing so that the White House (initiated by LBJ) would have uninterrupted communications between Washington and Saigon... and to make certain that the beer stays cold. What a great tour of duty that was!
