Title: Integrated Coastal Management in the Province of Ca Mau - Vietnam Student group project, part of the MSc studies in TU Delft. Realised in Ho Chi Minh City and Ca Mau, Vietnam, in collaboration with GIZ and the Water Resources University of Vietnam (DHTL). • Detailed study on the integration of coastal and inland water management in the province of Ca Mau, Vietnam • Formulation of a holistic analytical approach to identify key challenges and highlight dominant mechanics in the water system. The formulated approach combines elements of the physical system, human actions, policy response and climate change in a form of System Dynamics toolset, and was built with the aim to be used by GIZ as a rapid assessment and stakeholder participation tool for provincial Integrated Water Management.

Project Goal: Analysis of the interaction between urban development and water infrastructure in cities with emphasis on distributed water-saving technologies. Development, expansion and completion of relevant software tools, leading to a DSS able to address water-sensitive urban landscape evolution scenarios, thus combining water management with population dynamics and urban infrastructure changes. Active contribution to deliverables in the parent projects of TRUST and Hydropolis. Related Personal Tasks: • Support in the integration of urban growth simulation components with an urban water cycle model on a regional scale. • Development of a multiple-state urban growth and land use model in MATLAB, calibration and application in the metropolitan area of Athens. • Assessment of the outcome of using water-aware distributed technologies to a neighborhood and household level.
