I provide leadership to approximately 100 staff members that deliver credit and non-credit courses to our district. I oversee 23 credit health, education, human services and public safety programs, most of which are accredited or heavily regulated by third-party stakeholders. We also provide a vast array of non-credit training and recertification in the public safety sector. I am passionate about building our healthcare workforce in rural America. I am professionally active, and serve as a member of the La Crosse Medical Health Science Consortium Board, as President-Elect for NN2 (National Network of Health Career Programs in Two-Year Colleges), a site visitor for NAACLS (National Accrediting Association for Clinical Laboratory Science) and as a public member-at-large for the Commission on Dental Accreditation Review Committee for Endodontics.

• Provided leadership for college-wide continuous quality improvement and organizational development, including participation the Higher Learning Commission’s Academic Quality Improvement Project (charter member)• Provided leadership for program and service evaluation process including consulting with WTCS on the development of online database for the development of program scorecards• Initiated and Coordinated Western’s participation in CQIN (Continuous Quality Improvement Network) in Dallas in 2001, Seattle in 2002, and Minneapolis in 2003.• Provided leadership for research, analysis, and benchmarking of organizational performance measures for AQIP, Baldrige and Wisconsin Forward Applications• Managed and coordinated grant activities for college-wide instructional improvement activities and enhanced process by aligning with program evaluation activities; this process was eventually adopted by the WTCS as a best-practice activity.• Co-authored applications for the 1999, 2001, 2002 Wisconsin Forward Award for which Western Technical College was recognized at Mastery Level• Co-wrote application for the 2002 Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award. Application progressed through Consensus Level.• Co-authored 2003 AQIP Systems Portfolio• Facilitated focus groups of internal and external stakeholders; facilitated Nursing faculty group in the development and implementation of transitional Nursing curriculum• Developed the first process to triangulate student outcome data using faculty, student and employer feedback
