Duties included management and supervision of all environmental engineering activities provided by a Federal and state sponsored environmental services agency. These activities included the Environmental Consultation Program and Environmental Laboratory Services. The Environmental Consultation Program targets hazardous materials/wastes and complicated federal (EPA) and state (ADEM) regulations with which Alabama businesses and industries must comply. Assistance provided included telephone/field consultation and engineering testing/recommendations for regulatory compliance and/or remediation. The Environmental Laboratory Services supports the consultation program by providing analytical results for field sampling and testing. The laboratoryis accredited by The National Institute for Standards and Technology's NVLAP Program and participates in the LPAT program for lead.During the performance of these duties, developed a working relationship with members of National EPA, Region IV EPA, ADEM and State Department of Health. Participated in the writing of technical sections of the Environmental Lead Bill which was passed into Law by the Alabama State Legislature. Served as UA Safe State representative to Mercedes (MBUSI) when locating a major Auto assembly facility in Alabama.
