17 December 2020. Awarded National Wine Centre Trophy, that's top of the Gold Medal table, and Rose of the Year (WineState Wine of the Year Awards, Annual Edition 2021) https://online.pubhtml5.com/dzeu/iyvl/ Boutique vineyard established approx 2003/4, growing pinot noir, riesling & chardonnay. (Approx 3.5 ha., 10500 vines) In our first 2 seasons of Wine Show entries as Mapleton Vineyards, we have achieved GOLD, GOLD, GOLD for our 2018 Riesling (plus Fin-Est Trophy for best 2018 wine) (Tas Wine Show 2019), our 2018 Pinot Noir and 2019 Pinot Noir Rose (Tas Wine Show 2020), a Silver Medal at International Riesling Challenge (Oct 2019) plus a number of Bronze Medals from Royal Hobart Wine Show and Royal Melbourne Wine Shows (2019) Before our ownership (late 2015) it was listed as a contender in the Royal Agricultural Society Tas "Vineyard of the Year". Strategic alliances with Woodlands Vineyard (<5ha, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Cab Sauv & Merlot, planted 1988/89) and Mapleton, approx 1ha Pinot Noir & Pinot Gris, in Tea Tree, Tasmania. Recovery of the vineyard has been amazing after 2015 & 2016 yielded insufficient to pick or process. 2017 was a very small harvest, yet producing an excellent, fuller bodied Pinot Noir. 2018 produced well, with an absolutely fantastic 2018 Riesling, (Trophy - see above), a nicely mouth filling 2018 Chardonnay, (Bronze Medal TWS 2020) a terrifically delicious 2018 Pinot Noir Rose, (3 Bronze Medals), as well as the top quality 2018 Pinot Noir, (Gold, TWS 2020) . 2019 pick gave a small quantity of Cab Sauv, ready for Cellar Door only release in 2022. The 2019 Rose went Gold, 2019 Riesling was (allegedly) Stewards' Choice, Part of our 2021 pick has gone into our 2 Vintage sparklings, Cuvee and Rose. Available 2023?
