This fall marks my 37th year as a college instructor and my 15th here at Pittstate. It has been a terrific ride.In 2019/20 I am again teaching two sections of Vector Based Software (Illustrator) and two sections of Graphic Design during fall and spring semesters. My summer online course teaching this time was one section of Graphic Design and one of Vector Based Graphics (Adobe Illustrator). Both went very well although the enrollments were small. The Canvas web site for them just gets better and better with each repeat. Software tutorials are delivered via YouTube videos that I create and update regularly. Our newest faculty members, Rocky Restivo from Coffeyville, and Jason Reid from Ft. Scott are now well established and eligible to apply for tenure. Rocky is here to expand our digital media area of emphasis and Jason is our lead web professor. We have 6 different areas of emphasis that students can choose from to complete their GIT degree. Those options include the newest, Packaging Graphics as well as Graphic Design, Graphics Management, Print Graphics, Digital Media Graphics (photo and video), and Web/Interactive Graphics. I serve on the curriculum committee and our marketing committee to help promote our department. My colleagues work many extra hours each week to keep our curriculum and our promotions top notch.Dr. Doug Younger continues to serve as our department chair. I have every confidence in his leadership and look forward to aother good year with him at the top.Our department is fully, Nationally accredited. We're one of only a handful of departments working in this area to achieve that commendation. In spite of challenging times, our enrollment is up! GIT is thriving, improving and growing!

Enjoyed the heck out of working directly with Greg Brewer who's retired several years ago. We made a great team in a two person department.

Taught Photography, Illustration, Graphic Design, Fundamentals of Design, Typography and Publication Design. Enjoyed working with Bruce Papier and learned a lot under his direction. He introduced me to the digital age and was the first to show me a new form of communication - the internet.
