    Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College (FDLTCC) in partnership with the American Indian Higher Education Consortium (AIHEC) are proud to announce THUNDER inDIGIfest 2021 - The Indigenous Digital Multimedia FestivalMarch 26 to March 28, 2021THUNDER inDIGIfest 2021 is a three-day virtual festival featuring original multimedia productions in Photography, Audio, Animation, and Film submitted by students, faculty, and staff from the 37 Tribal Colleges and Universities (TCUs). In addition to the pre-recorded works, there will be several live remote events including a Poetry Slam and panel discussions on Indigenous issues in the Digital Age.The goal of THUNDER inDIGIfest 2021 is to provide practical information about what is possible in the various fields of multimedia production as well as inspire participants to explore new ways to tell their stories about their culture, their traditions, their language, and their life.

    “My Voice Matters” was a creative multimedia peace-building project organized by IOM CCCM to provide youth in the UN Bentiu Protection of Civilian site an opportunity to communicate their feelings about peace through a variety of imaginative, artistic ways including singing, drawing, storytelling, photography, drama, and much more. This was a youth-driven, all-inclusive, imagination-unleashing, peace-building opportunity for Internally Displaced Persons to express themselves and discover that their voices really do matter. As the Communicating with Communities Multimedia Specialist for this two-month project, my assignment was to oversee the multimedia coverage and help organize a Community Celebration for Peace in Bentiu on 28 April 2018 and produce a six-minute video about the project for a presentation to UN and humanitarian agencies in Juba on 4 May 2018.

    Served in the Youth Development sector of the United States Peace Corps from March 2012 to May 2014 based in Agdz, Morocco. Trained Moroccans in technical and editorial aspects of multimedia production projects including:OUARZAZATE ENEWS: Advised this group of university students involved in citizen journalism and successfully secured two grants from WORLD CONNECT to conduct intensive training programs. WOMEN’S LEARNING PARTNERSHIP (WLP): Developed a training program with a Moroccan association to provide critical information about female empowerment and gender equality to illiterate rural residents. After re-editing the WLP 40-minute documentary entitled “From Fear To Freedom: Ending Violence Against Women” into 13 short videos, the script was recorded in Shilha (the Amazigh dialect in Agdz) and Darija (the Moroccan Arabic dialect). A Facilitator’s Manual was created to guide communities in discussions about how to solve the problem of violence against women. PEACE CORPS GENDER AND DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE: Assisted young Moroccan women associated with GLOBALGIRL MEDIA in completing a variety of video projects including a 30-minute documentary entitled “Breaking the Silence About Sexual Harassment: Moroccans Speak Out!” which won 1st Place in the Women's Voices Now 2014 Film FestivalPEACE CORPS MOROCCO: Produced several multimedia projects for Peace Corps Morocco including a ten-minute Close of Service video showing the accomplishments of our 2012-2014 Youth Development group of volunteers.
