Currently teach Intermediate Accounting I, Financial Management and Financial Accounting.During my time of St. Catherine I have taught almost every accounting course offered at least three timesDuring the years 1989 to 1992 as Chair of the Business Administration DepartmentGrants:2004 Greg DiNovis and I wrote and received Denny grant to design and implement a program of ehtics accross the the Business Administration cirriculum. This included research on what was already being done in teaching ethics both in other colleges and universities and in our busines department, establishing a methodology based on Catholic Social Teaching and the stakeholder model that could be used by all faculty in presenting ethics cases if they choose to do so, the writing of numerous ethics cases for a variety of subjects and making these available to our faculty members.Coleman grant to develop two online courses to teach basic accounting in a continuing education format. Wrote and received $20,000 outside grant to develop program that included a class on Mexican business and then having students travel to Mexico City to studing actual Mexican businesses.Received a small grant from the college to work with a student to produce a VHS tape that showed students how to use present value tables to solve a variety of present value problems.Honors:I have been nominated for teacher of the year three times.During St. Catherines Centennial Reunion I was choosen by one of the alumna of one of the year's classes as their nominee for an Award for Faculty Excellence

Projects included the following:Reveiw several proposed projects gathering related financial information and using accepted capital budgeting methods to provide administrators with the information needed to make decisions on various alternatives for several proposed projects.Provided sheriff with cost information on the cost per day per prisoner to justify rates County charged other local, state and federal governments to house prisoners.Developed cost model the sheriff could use to determine how much to charge various municipalities for law enforcement services.Provided the majority of documentation needed by Moody's to rate County's new bond issue.Worked with another accountant to update and correct inventory list of all fixed assets owned by the accounting.Developed process for the computer imaging previous years and current time cards of all employees. Presuaded County Administrator to hire consultant to determine the estimated present value of the liability the County had for unfunded post retirement health care benefits.Ongoing activities included the following:In charge of monitoring of and accounting for various bond issues the County was responsible for including bond issues related to the Housing and Redevelopment Authority.Wrote and reviewed monthly and yearly closing and reversing journal entries as well as journal entries for complex transactions.Wrote most of the footnotes for the County's annual Comprehensive Annual Financial Report. Also, gathered information for various disclosures required for CAFR's supplimental section.Annually worked with state auditors using various audit techniques to prove various amounts in the general funds.
