    LH & Associates, LLC provides consulting services to Medicare providers, which concentrates on services pertaining to Medicare appeals and Re-openings. Our main focus is on maximizing Medicare reimbursement via application of Medicare Regulations and policy. Myself and Walt Luke, Company principals, offer the expertise and workmanship- to achieve our focus, as we both have extensive Medicare Reimbursement experience, from the review of the Medicare cost report, collaborating with the Medicare Administrative Contractor ("MAC"), as pertaining to Medicare audits, review of proposed audit adjustments, and making sure the Provider receives a timely proper settlement.Specifically, our efforts have been in two main issues: Low Volume Adjustment for Sole Community Hospitals, and Medicare bad debts for all hospitals. Our efforts have been successful in both areas and has generated more Medicare reimbursement for providers. I am more than happy to be contacted to discuss either issue where a provider has the potential to receive additional reimbursement. Both issues have been neglected by providers and has cost providers available reimbursement opportunities.

    Was responsible for reviewing Medicare appeals, with a staff of 6 auditors. I handled a caseload of 100 appeals. Met with attorneys and consultants who represented the hospitals in dealing with their Medicare Cost Report appeals. Wrote position papers and administrative resolutions, and also witnessed at the Provider Reimbursement Review Board in Baltimore regarding Medicare appeal hearings.
