    Town and Country was the dominant force in Hawaiian surfboard manufacturing throughout the 70's and 80's sponsoring many top pro surfers including world champion Martin Potter, John "Johnny Boy" Gomez and Dane Kealoha, one of Hawaii's most accomplished professional surfers. as well as many others, too numerous to mention here.I was hired in 1982 as one of three main production shapers. My job was secure after shaping a board for the owner of the company, Craig Sugihara, who promptly went out and won his division at the Honolulu HSA (Hawaiian Surfing Association) contest!
