I was responsible for the content, quality, and operations of natural sciences (biology, chemistry, physics, and Earth science) courses and curricula at American Military University and American Public University. The Mission Operations Directorate (MOD) at the Johnson Space Center was responsible for all aspects of planning, training, and execution of NASA human spaceflight missions.As a member of the MOD Spaceflight Training Management Office, I developed and integrated training standards and instructional innovations for astronauts and mission support personnel. I also served as a backup USA department manager. _______________Accomplishments:• Designed and implemented an 8-week introductory course in flight controller fundamentals that resulted in more efficient and consistent training of International Space Station (ISS) mission support personnel from across different technical specialties• Chartered and led a team responsible for the coordination and ongoing operation of the flight controller fundamentals course. The work of this team resulted in improved communication and decision making regarding program goals, customer needs, student performance, and resource management between 6 mission support divisions that participated in the course• Identified and developed underutilized meeting space into a cost effective multi-purpose instructional facility that provided a 25% increase in MOD classroom capacity to support astronaut and mission support training programs• Completed a technical implementation of a commercial audience response system in multiple MOD training facilities in order to provide advanced instructional capabilities for the instruction of astronauts and mission support personnel

This mission included the safe and successful completion of the first and only ISS EVA conducted by two astronauts using U.S. assets without any other astronauts on-board the Station• Served as lead EVA Systems instructor and flight controller for Space Shuttle mission STS-118/ISS 13A.1.
