ADVENTURE OF THE SEASGT: 137276, 6*Wartsila Diesel-Electric 12v46c>74544 KW, Azimuth propulsion, B-4BRILLIANCE OF THE SEASGT: 90,090, 2*Gas turibne-GE-LM2500>57500 kw, Azimuth, B-3OASIS OF THE SEASGT: 226,838, 3*Wartsila 16V46D>18,840 kw, Azimuth, B-4MARINER OF THE SEASGT: 138,279, 6*Wartsila Diesel-Electric 12v46c>75600 KW, Azimuth, B-4As a 3rd Engineer, I was in charge of watchkeeping in the ER and ECR, and covering the position of 2nd Engineer on duty when required.All machinery equipment are monitored via M.A.S. including Kongsberg Information Management System (K-IMS), and Val Marine.Responsibilities• To monitor alarms, and parameters, to report or solve minor problems during the watch, • To assist engineers in a complete overhaul, repair, or solve minors issues, operation of the oil-fired boiler, EGB, surplus and flash steam condenser, fuel-lube oil separators, 5-stage evaporator, Main diesel generators, B.A. compressors, Pods, COGES, Incinerator, and lifesaving equipment such as WTD doors, rescue, and lifeboats, I participated in the Start-Up of the R.O. plant, Scrubber System, and dry dock team in Oct 2014 for 15 days where a new Wartsila 46 Common Rail was Installed (Netherland’s Shipyard) onboard Oasis of the seas.System Isolation: Steam, fuel-lube oil, hot and cold water, hi-fog system (isolation, drain v/v test, replacement of hi-fog, glycol nozzle, system back to service), drencher, and CO2 simulation test, Backflow preventer test, and maintenance. Changeover of: lube-fuel oil separator, Oil-fired boiler (DO/HFO)Loading/offloading operation of fuel-lube oil, Sludge, and alkali.Discharge> 4-12nm miles; Speed>6kn Gray water, treated black water, clean bilge, food waste, drain and filling of pools, and jacuzziDocumentationI filled Discharge and engine logbooks, and I ensured that confined space, fuel, and steam pressurized permits, etc. were in compliance with international and standards regulations as well with company policies.

I used to work on my training program under the supervision of a Marine Engineers following the requirements of STCW and the Panama Maritime Authority.As part of my shipboard Internship I worked on different assignments in the engine room and ECR, I got as well involved in departure and arrival maneuverings, and special permits including but not limited to Hot work, fuel oil pressurized, confined space entry, work aloft, and steam permit.Documentation and operations: I learned how to fill up the Oil record book, grey, treated black water, clean bilge, and Engine logbook.I also participated in the loading and offloading: of fuel-lube oil, sludge transfers, etc.

I started my internship program at Diesel Engine services company partner of MAN B&W in Panama.I used to work with a group of Marine Engineers that carries out jobs at the workshop and onboard vessels including a complete overhaul of Fuel oil injectors, cylinder liners, ABB turbochargers, etc.The experience gained helped me to understand how a Diesel engine works, and how important is to follow good equipment monitoring, and corrective maintenance from manufacturers to ensure good machinery performance.
