The booking system in place at the time was unreliable and the development company that provided it was no more.Between myself and another company the solution was rebuilt and improved to allow them to continue to operate. Six years later technology has moved on and additional functionality needs require a completely new web-based booking solution which is hosted on Microsoft's Azure platform.The theatre's backup subscription was being retired, as was their e-mail subscription. The alternatives suggested by the existing e-mail provider were subscription-based and, being a charity, cost is a major challenge.Fourteen IT Limited was initially founded to provide a proper channel through which the theatre/trust can be invoiced for work and to create a professional entity for reselling & maintaining products.I signed up as a Microsoft Partner and took the theatre through the validation process for them to be recognised by Microsoft as a non-profit, non-government organisation so they could obtain Office 365 licensing & desktop software as a donation. I also became a reseller for an online backup solution as this was the most cost-effective way to move them on to a new backup subscription.SOUTH COAST HEARING CARE LIMITEDThe Shanklin Theatre project also gave me a chance to formalise the work I do to support my wife's business. This includes provision of IT equipment, domain management, website & social media development, producing marketing materials (leaflets, brochures, business cards etc.) and providing ongoing day-to-day IT support.
