April 2009 – February 2012 Materials Technician – M25 Widening Junctions 16-23 (£500m)Overview: Section 1 covered the majority of the north-western quadrant of the M25 London Orbital motorway. The scheme involved widening the motorway from three lanes to four lanes in both directions. Responsibilities & Achievements: Whilst working for the materials team, my responsibilities included sampling and testing of soils, aggregates, Asphalt and concrete to all relevant standards within a UKAS accredited laboratory. Reporting of results for compliance, obtaining material approvals, undertaking laboratory safety audits, internal audits, briefings and toolbox talks to other staff.
