    From December 1968 to December 1969 I was in basic pilot training at Webb AFB in Big Spring, Texas. After basic pilot training I transitioned to the C-141 aircraft and spent 1970 to 1974 flying as a pilot based at McChord AFB. Missions were primarily to the Southeast Asia and Pacific region. As a command pilot I was pilot responsible for the aircraft and air crew safety, mission planning and mission execution. I upgraded to instructor pilot/flight examiner and was responsible for training and testing aircrews in the aircraft and flight simulator.
