Sonar Technician/Sonar Supervisor
-
Nov 2001 - Jan 2008
I entered service in November 2001 after swearing in at MEPS when the planes were hitting the towers on 9/11. After completing Boot Camp, submarine and sonar A school I reported aboard the USS Seawolf, SSN 21 in August 2002. Shortly thereafter I made petty officer third class. I deployed in 2003 on a northern run, went to drydock in 2004 and I received a promotion to petty officer second class. I became a sonar supervisor and 2005 and then was takin off the boat due to medical reasons in 2006. I reported TAD to Navel Submarine Support Center New London and became a master-at-arms. After completing my temporary duty there I reported to Naval Submarine Support Facility New London and also became a chief master at arms and the First lieutenant LPO. The Navy then made the decision to medically retire me in January of 2008 for lupus (SLE). I am 100% disabled according to the VA.
