Provided the conceptual design of an ethanol and crude oil railcar, storage and shipping terminal for the world’s largest independent storage provider.Carried out 3rd party independent verification review on the design of flare and vent systems to be installed on an offshore spar in the Gulf of Mexico.Provided specialized technical assistance for optimising the design of a flare system for an oil sands solvent extraction facility proposed for Alberta. Studies were provided to enable the existing flare system design of 2700 tonnes/hr to be halved, without compromising safety, plus the added benefit of significantly reduced solvent losses. The overall Optimisation Project estimated potential Capex savings to be up to around $160Million with additional savings in Opex and real estate.Key adviser for a Technical Due Diligence for a consortium of lenders on a significant LNG project (confidential).

The project involved the basic engineering of the offshore facilities, an 82 km sea line and onshore condensate separation facilities for the production of 1300 MMSCFD of LNG feedstock. Responsible for the sizing of various systems for the onshore LNG plant, offshore and onshore depressurization and several studies.An offsite Gasoline blending system for the FINA oil refinery in Antwerp, Belgium. Later sent to the refinery in Antwerp to assist in the Offsite Modernization Project being carried out. Responsible for checking the hydraulics of the systems proposed by FINA for fully automated Gasoline, Gas Oil and Fuel Oil blenders.A Hydrofiner revamp / debottleneck study for a TOTAL oil refinery in Normandy, France. Responsible for scheduling the work activities, checking the suitability of the existing equipment for the new duty and developing process data sheets for the new duties and new equipment where required.Feasibility study of the development of several gas / condensate fields in the North Sea utilizingexisting platforms.Feasibility study of a heavy oil field development within the Arctic Circle, Russia and preliminary design of a 102 km pipeline for transportation to existing facilities.Provided a preliminary sizing of the processing units and other major equipment for a cost estimation of a 30,000 BPSD refinery proposed for Kwinana, Australia.Responsible for providing the process requirements for a Basic Design Package of a proposed mini refinery in Chad, Africa and for providing an Italian client with a conceptual design package for a Gas Oil and Fuel Oil blending system.One of three engineers sent to the BP Oil refinery in Dunkirk, France, to solve a problem with the operation of a Vacuum Distillation Unit. Involved in a proposal for a debottleneck of the VDU on return to Paris.
