    Promoted to this permanent role after a successful secondment. Thjs role includes:- 2nd/3rd line support of network equipment.- Monitoring and reacting to Server alerts via Dell Open Manage System (disk failures, updates etc)- Configuring and installing of Watchguard Firewalls- Configuring and monitoring of Wireless Access Points (WAPs) using Cisco prime- Server/Comms Room recabling- Configuring and installing managed switches (Cisco and Dell)- Server configuation and roll outs- Wifi Mapping of buildings in order for Wifi Scanning, (checking for signal strength with a view to improving/installing new APs) using Ekahau professional scanning software.- Monitoring of IP ranges via Solar Winds Orion for keeping our internal auditing spreadsheet current, freeing up IP addresses and updating reservations where needed.My completed projects to date include: - Replacement of 180+ Cisco 1131/1142 WAPs with 2600 and 2700 models (configured and installed)- Wifi coverage project lead: Budgeted project to map and scan sites, purchase WAPs, and pay for the cable contractors to run the cables and install new data points for additional APs (increasing Wifi signal strength in the hospitals we cover in Leicestershire Partnership Trust)

    Secondment role to roll out new Dell Servers to GP Surgeries. When the stock of new servers have all been used, we are to upgrade the remaining MS Windows 2003 Server to MS Windows 2008 R2. This will require the software building and complete configuring of an identical server from scratch with MS 2008 Server R2. The role includes the installation and configuration of:- Windows Server Update Services (WSUS)- Installation of DHCP role, configuring DHCP: Range, scopes and reservations.- Parachute UPS Software - Backup Exec 2015 and Veritas 12.5.- DNS and SNMP- Promoting and Demoting of Servers.- Watchguard- Dell Open Manage Software.- Liaising with Practice Managers and/or IT Contacts at Sugeries for install times.- Installation of new Servers into the GP Surgeries.- Retrieval of old Servers (after a week of synchronising and ensuring back ups are fine)
