Responsible for the safety & security of the staff at a medical research facility in the Research Triangle Park of Durham, North Carolina. I perform access control duties, foot patrols, occasional vehicle patrols, I operate a shuttle bus when needed (I also train new drivers on the proper and safe operation of the twelve passenger bus) and finally I monitor CCTV cameras. I respond to medical emergencies and fire alarms when they occur in my area of responsibility, while alerting Fire, EMS or Police agencies. A great deal of customer service is required for this position along with client relations. (I am Firearms, AED & CPR certified) I recently became a member of "SMARRT" (Sunstates Mutual Aid Rapid Response Team)

As an Asset Protection Associate in Lynchburg, Virginia. I was responsible for the curtailment of loss due to theft, damage to property and injury to customers and employees. I move about the store undercover to look for customers or employees unlawfully taking or damaging Wal-Mart property and once detected continuing to observe the individual(s) until the exit they store and then apprehending them, processing them through our computerized system and then alerting the local Police to have a summons issued or an arrest made. I then prepare my evidence for court and present those cases when the time comes. I use computerized reports, digital photographs and digital video recordings as part of my case for court and for retaining on Wal-Mart / Sam’s Club database for future reference.

Responsible for protecting University students, personnel, visitors and property ensuring that the employees and students are safe and that the rules and safety procedures of the University are obeyed. My normal duties as mentioned and public service calls for misplaced vehicles, lock outs and dead batteries. Since 2008 I have also worked in the UNC Health Care Office Building (Hedrick) which has allowed me to interact with the Healthcare side of things. I monitor CCTV Cameras & review the recordings on occasion, I also monitor Fire Alarm Panels and act accordingly I inform the employees & visitors of any severe weather alerts or vehicle accidents on the roadways that may impact their business or commute. I make foot patrols and compose computer generated reports of my activities during my shift not to mention customer service as well as visitor and client relations. During emergencies I work in conjunction with fellow University Emergency Personnel, UNC Hospital Police as well as City of Chapel Hill Police & Fire personnel. I had CPR and AED certifications, I was also HIPAA and FERPA trained/certified during this period.

My primary tasks are to provide a visual deterrent to robbery and loss through internal and external theft as well as to inform the manager should I see any of the before mentioned acts and stand by him/her if they decide to stop a suspect and wait for Police response.

I conducted vehicle and foot patrols, K-9 handler, operated speed detection devices and operated as a member of Air Force Special Operations Command, as well as the counter narcotics organizations J.T.F.-3, J.T.F.-6 & J.T.F.-7 in the continental United States, Latin America & Caribbean where I assisted the U.S. Border Patrol, DEA, BATF as well as El Paso City and County law enforcement agencies in detecting and curtailing illegal immigration and narcotics smuggling operations across the Mexican border and in the Caribbean. I ended my time as a Sergeant and team leader.
