Led Sales, Bid, and Solutions teams accountable for developing compelling client proposals across all towers of BPO and through all vertical industry sectors.Most significant during the two years with Sutherland was helping the company grow from its traditional base in the Customer Services area into greater penetration of F&A BPO and Order Processing, adding new logo sales and expansion into these new areas with existing clients.One highlight in Order Processing was that the team identified, structured and closed a contract worth in excess of $125M over 5 years to take responsibility for global order processing activities, rebadging over 1000 resources performing these activities, and introducing a robotics solution and other digital enhancements to the processes as the catalyst for transformation and streamlining of the disparate systems interfaces within the technology company.

Responsible for the planning and execution of global business development strategy and sales. Direct responsibilities included business growth through the development of new service offerings, partnerships and acquisitions, existing account growth, and responsibility for new logo BPO sales.Specifically, hired new sales team in the USA and Europe to lead growth in new logos. In the five years with Capgemini, the team closed over $1B in multi-year BPO services agreements with more than 5 new, major logos each year. No contract was less than three years in duration and the longest was over 10 years. The resources that were added/acquired to service these new relationships exceeded 5000 FTEs.This included such significant global clients as Coca Cola, Unilever, Bunge, Agrana, Nokia Siemens (significant global supply chain transformation rebadging over 1000 FTEs in India, China, Europe and USA), FedEx, Avon (16 country consolidation of back office into 3 key centers), Warner Bros, Office Depot, Kraft, Syngenta, StoraEnso, SunPower, Armstrong, Algar, Fortus, Johnson & Johnson, American Greetings, Cott Beverages, Wolters Kluwer, and AES (energy). During this same timeframe, the business development team acquired all back office F&A support activities and rebadged over 500 FTEs across Latin America from Unilever, structuring the service delivery to support a multi-client environment, and significantly growing the Centers of Excellence in several hubs in South America.

Additionally, participated in property development in Hawaii, Jackson Hole, WY, Aspen, CO, France, and the Bahamas. Invested in property developments at Lake Burton, Georgia as well. In 2002/3, worked with Unisys Corporation as a partner/consultant supporting business development for outsourcing projects for major multinationals in the financial services industry.

Resided in London, leading global business development and responsible for sales and marketing strategy, including financial structuring and negotiation of contracts. Responsible for the geographical sales teams, led PwC to major wins in every theatre around the world.Took the team from one contract in 1997 generating less that $10M per year to a group that was generating a run rate of over $400M revenue per year in 2002.Highlights included negotiating and closing the largest F&A BPO deal ever done at the time. The $1.5B, 10 year deal was with a major oil and gas company. Significant wins in telecoms and consumer products were also important contributors to the significant growth in F&A BPO.Retired when pwc determind that the BPO practice was in conflict with the audit independence it wanted to maintain and chose to carve off the business to other parties.

One of the pioneers of Finance and Accounting BPO. Launched the BPO business during tenure with Arthur Andersen & Co. as a Principal/Partner and Firm Director of Business Development for the newly created service line. Responsible for development of the practice methodology, contracting structures, market development activities, and for the negotiation and performance of key engagements.Highlights included performing BPO management of several of the Resolution Trust Corporation centers (Federally subsidized intervention during the Savings and Loan crisis in the early 90's). These contracts included approximately 1000 resources in several regional locations that handled real estate loan administration and processing. Also, created a new office for Federal Government support and led the team to contract wins in excess of $150M throughout the world, including Russia, The Philippines, and Egypt. In Russia, the teams supported the privatization of the former Soviet Union, significantly helping Russia establish a capital markets infrastructure as well as the creation and privatization of real estate ownership.In Egypt, the team was established to help the government begin the extraordinarily difficult task of carving off and privatizing over 200 companies that were grossly underperforming and consuming hundreds of millions of dollars of government spending to subsidize the inefficiencies.

Served in various line management roles including one of EDS’ largest Medicaid customers, leading the team responsible for call center and claims adjustments/queries.Was one of the founding members of the Government Services Division in 1978, created to leverage the existing EDS technology capabilities into the government sector. Huge wins included the largest Defense IT contract ever awarded at that time ($400M). Moved to Amsterdam in 1980, holding various leadership roles. Negotiated very large fixed price deal for complete overhaul of an insurance company IT, structuring the deal with a discounted, up-front, one-time payment for the entire 5 year contract value. This was done to counter significantly desperate FX fluctuations between the Dutch guilder and the US dollar as well as the rampant inflation in the USA at the time. Moved to London in 1983 as Executive Director for International Finance, EDS’ Global CFO outside of North America. Oversight responsibility for all EDS international financial activities, including tax, accounting, financial analysis, financial systems implementation, and contract management. Member of the Management Review Board, participating in the review and approval of all new business opportunities. During this time, structured and negotiated a 10 year contract and JV with the LG Group in South Korea for complete management and transformation of their IT infrastructure and software environment. This relationship generated over $1B in revenue during its lifetime. Returned to the states after seven years overseas due to ageing parent issues.
