    I’m producing shoots, managing crew and supervising post-production on Les Guthman’s latest feature documentary, chronicling the work of women and LGBTQ Astrophysicists and Engineers on the LIGO scientific project. For XPLR Productions I start in pre-production, then produce and shoot on-location, and later move into post for story producing, finishing & delivery. I hire, inspire and manage film crews, conduct research, write interview questions, create and supervise budgets, apply for additional funding, direct some primary interviews, manage and execute post-production, and promote films at festivals. LIGO films are made in collaboration with CalTech and MIT, with funding by The National Science Foundation and MathWorks.

    Emmy and Telly award-winning PBS film about the power of art to heal wounds of war. The Take Me Home Huey project was conceived to help Vietnam Veterans recover from post traumatic stress. I co-directed, co-produced, co-wrote, filmed and edited this feature documentary with Alicia Brauns. The whole project includes a large-scale sculpture, a film, live music and a published book. Steele Pictures Studios provided Production, Post-Production, Design, Marketing and Event Services. In partnership with PBS SoCal, our film was broadcast nationwide on PBS throughout 2019 and 2020 as a companion film screening alongside Ken Burns’ series, The Vietnam War.

    Regularly stayed up all night working as an Assistant Editor in feature animation at Pixar. Recorded and edited hundreds of professional voice-over sessions, logged thousands of hours on an Avid, animated millions of storyboards in After Effects, and ate most of my meals in front of a computer for years! 🤣 I was a second Assistant Editor on A Bug's Life, an Assistant Editor on Toy Story 2 for a few years, followed by 10 months working on Monsters, Inc., where I shot, edited and animated tens-of-thousands of hand-drawn storyboards in After Effects and Avid, to create animatics for timing and guiding 3D animation (including the now famous opening-doors title sequence). I gained valuable writing, editing and story structure skills during my time at Pixar by preparing and trimming Avid sequences, attending story sessions, recording actors, replacing shot revisions and voice-over sound bites, adding sound effects, and outputting many, many rewrites and editorial sequence versions to video and film.
