    I delivered Government announcements on roads and shipping policies. I provided media briefings and advice to ministers and ensured the department's position was adequately reflected in coverage. During my time at DfT I was part of the initial team that prepared the communication of the collapse of Monarch airlines and the subsequent repatriation of over 100,000 people to the UK. I was invited to Downing Street in recognition of my work. Before working on roads and maritime I was a press officer on the news desk, reacting to high profile queries from national correspondents across transport issues.
