    I help lead the guides team alongside the guides editor, and I run the cell when the guides editor is away. This role involves writing and editing guides, planning a strategy to tackle the biggest games of the year, and commissioning freelance writers when required. I use tools like Parse.ly, Google Trends, and SE Ranking to identify and track key terms. I have a thorough understanding of SEO best practices and a keen eye for emerging trends.I’ve had an active role in PCGamesN’s guide coverage since I started back in 2020, and since being promoted I’ve been able to help shape our strategy alongside the guides editor. This involved teaching them our processes on how to use Asana and Slack, helping them through the guides writing process, and running them through our updates scheme for evergreen guides. My role has expanded this year to include managerial tasks such as conducting 1:1s and identifying areas to spend our freelance budget. Outside of guides, I’ve had the opportunity to cover a range of topics at PCGamesN. I’ve previewed and reviewed games like Street Fighter 6, conducted interviews with developers such as Blizzard’s Hearthstone team, reviewed hardware from high-end monitors to arcade sticks, and more.

    I spent my first three months at Network N learning the basics of SEO, getting to grips with the WordPress CMS, and adapting to the network-wide style guide. Each month was dedicated to learning the best practices at each of the different Network N websites: The Loadout (esports focus), Pocket Tactics (mobile focus), and PCGamesN.Though my title is staff writer, I work primarily as a guides writer covering the latest releases and all of the popular GaaS titles.
